When a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on April 25th TellAsia’s team from north India set out almost immediately by jeep to offer help. At least 10,000 people are believed to have been killed and many of our disciples and ministry partners are suffering. Many buildings collapsed, including churches, killing many inside.
Our first team of native leaders included Alok and Gaurav from Lucknow Region. They traveled to the worst areas identifying the most needy people and providing life-preserving aid such as temporary shelter, food and clothing.

David’s team from Varanasi (see photo below) arrived later and along with food, provided materials to help rebuild homes. Our Board member Dr Tom Hatley also was on site providing water purification systems.
A big thank you to all of you who contributed toward this effort. Because of you, hundreds of Nepali people have been saved from starvation or extreme suffering and have been given hope and a new start.
