In May 2010 we shifted the children’s home to South City, Lucknow about eight miles from our office. David and Shari from the USA have lived on site with the children for the past 14 months. They were literally a Mom and Dad to all 30 kids, enriching their lives by mentoring them and leading special classes like sewing, computers, Bible, English, etc. On September 30th they returned to the USA. All of us miss them terribly. Their love and hard work has added so much to all our lives.
The landlord was causing us problems so we decided to shift the children’s home again. It’s very difficult to find a place big enough to accommodate 30 children. Our team prayed constantly while also searching. By God’s grace and quite unexpectedly, the principal from Lucknow Christian College approached us and offered us a house in the college campus for the children’s home. It was a great answer to prayer. We shifted our children’s home there on the last week of October.
It’s a great feeling to have this accommodation in a Christian facility where we can be at peace. Starting next year our boys and girls will be educated in the nearby Christian school which is part of Lucknow Christian College.
But our final goal is to move into our own facility where the orphan children will be supported through income that we generate locally. As of August we closed on two nearly-adjacent land parcels totaling 1.7 Acres of prime suburban property, costing $193,000. This purchase was enabled by a sacrificial contribution from Nayak Foundation and another generous donor.
We praise and thank God for providing this land. Now all that remains is to construct the facility that will enable us to provide a Christian English medium education to 800 students, and a loving home and a bright future to 100 orphan kids at once. This project will be fully self-supported.
We ask you to kindly pray for the funds for the construction of the school and children’s home.
