In 2006 International Cooperating Ministries (ICM) began partnering with TellASIA to construct church buildings in North India. We call these church buildings “Life Centers.” On February 12th we dedicated our 10th Life Center located in Khutehanna Village in Sultanpur District. The construction of five more Life Centers will begin in April.
Having a building provides the believers an identity in the community. In addition to the worship meetings, Life Centers also provide a location in which the pastor can conduct vocational training and education for needy children. Many of the Life Centers are also used for discipleship training, Bible classes, women’s meetings, children’s programs, and other activities.
Though we praise the Lord for the construction of these small rural facilities, we still have no finished urban facility from which to develop the urban church and train leaders. Urban projects underway in our two main regions include:
• Lucknow urban Life Center: This three level, 15,000 sq. ft. facility is almost finished. We still need about $15,000 to complete the outside plastering and windows, and additional funds to complete the plumbing and electrical wiring and furnish the interior.
• Varanasi urban facility: $15,000 is still needed for Phase 1—the construction of a guest house and office facility. Please consider contributing to these construction projects.
