My name is Lal Mohar. I am thankful to the God who brought me out from darkness into his glorious light.
When I was a young man I came into contact with bad company and became a gang leader. We waited alongside the roads and then jumped out and robbed people as they passed. Sometimes we killed them. Drunkenness and fighting composed most of my life.
One day, I visited my village and my friend Ram Nath came to see me. He told me about Jesus and I became violent and chased him out of the house.
Yet my friend kept telling me about Jesus. One day I went with him to a Christian meeting. I did not like the idea at first, but I stayed to enjoy the songs. After the meeting I met pastor Daljeet, who was serving the Lord with TellASIA Ministries.
He read me John 3:16. I was deeply touched by his message of love. That night, I tossed and turned in my bed the whole night. I was thinking about my sinful and wretched life. I started crying on my bed. Suddenly, I heard a very small faint voice behind me. I knew it was Jesus Christ talking to me. That night the Lord touched me and transformed me.
The next day, I ran to my friend’s house and narrated everything that happened to me in the night. I began to attend the house church in my village. In January 2000 I accepted the Lord and took water baptism.
For the last 10 years my wife and I have been serving the Lord with TellASIA Ministries in north India. We have established 26 house churches in different villages.
The Lord has given me the gift of music, and I preach the gospel through the songs I compose. People from different villages invite me to sing and share my testimony in their churches.
