by Joy Cherian, Allahabad area coordinator
Meet Jay Kumar, our Allahabad area church planter. He was born and brought up in an orthodox Hindu family in a village in Allahabad District. In 2001 at the age of 20 he heard the gospel and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. As he openly professed his Christian faith his family along with the whole village opposed him. Later that year his father threw him out of his house and the whole village chased him out of their village and told him never to come back as they don’t want a Christian among them. But God in his mercy opened doors for him and gave him opportunity to study the Bible through. Since 2003 he is with TellASIA as a church planter going from village to village preaching and praying and claiming lives for Jesus. During the last seven years he has started 20 house churches and baptized over 200 people. He lives under continuous threat and harassment. Occasionally some of his churches are forcibly closed by the Hindu fanatics but he never gives up.
His father has since passed away and some of his family members have come to the Lord. The people in his village saw the change in his life and respect him now. He lives with his wife and two children in a rented room. His eight year old son is not attending any school as there is no public schools where he lives and he cannot afford a private school. His desire is to go back to his own village and build a small house on his family property and serve the Lord from there. However he has no money.
Jay Kumar requests the prayers and support of God’s people so that he can establish his family in the village.

Temporary house for the Children's Home kids
We had to move Blue Haven Children's Home to another facility as the owner of the house we have rented for the past five years wanted to move back in. It was a major operation to find another place adequate for 32 children plus staff. Ricky spent many days visiting possibilities only to find that they were either too far away from the school, didn't have proper bathrooms or bedrooms, or had no parking place for our bus. AFter she visited some places the owner informed her that they didn't want a children's home using the facility and turned down our attempt to rent from them.

New shoes for some of the kids, sponsored by Dr. Nayak
Finally, just in the nick of time, we have located a place that is adequate. The house has nine rooms - more space than the other one, which is very good. The landlord will also allow us to use the basement for prayer and study. We wiull be shifting to the new location on May 10th.
The house rent is 18000 per month. Eighteen thousand we have deposited to the land lord as security. And two month Advance for the Month of May and June. Total we have given 51000 rupee to him. After every 11 month they will increase 10% rent of the basic rent. Please see the attached rental Agreement.
Most of the children will still be going to the other school which is 15 mles away. Some have now moved to 9th Grade. Since Thomas Academy only goes to 8th Grade, our older kids will go to a different school that's near to the house. The school fees are much higher but it's a very good school.
It is becoming more and more urgent to establish a facility and school for the long-tern children's home project.
We are on the verge of getting land on which to build a permanent children's home and school facility. Currently three of our team members are out looking at possible land options. Please pray that God will lead us to the right plot of land for this project which will transform hundreds of children's lives for many years to come.
You can be the sponsor of a classroom or dorm room (500 sq ft) or a smaller room (250 sq ft) in the Children's Home project. Email us for more details.

One Pastor's Answered Prayer Be part of the excitement! Sponsor the 2020 Network today.
Pastor Sandeep is participating in the 2020 Network as the District coordinator of Sajahanpur District. He receives no personal funding from us but is working with the Network voluntarily, as are almost all the 1,000 pastors and leaders who are joining hands for this incredible goal. During the Network Conference held in December last year Pastor Sandeep shared with us that he had personally visited all fifteen Blocks of his District and had identified fifteen young pastors who were passionate for expanding the Gospel work throughout their area.
The problem he faced however was that most had had almost no Bible training. Here in North India quite often people will come to know the Lord through a miraculous healing or deliverance from demons. Full of vision and faith, they then go out and start leading others to Christ. Soon there is a group of believers...but no one has been trained to lead them. So in many places there are small house-based churches and believers zealous to do the Lord's work, but no way for them to be trained. Most have jobs and families so it is impossible for them to take a long period of time out to go to a Bible school.
During the 2020 Network Conference Sandeep shared with us his desire to conduct a monthly short-term discipleship course for these fifteen key leaders. His goal is for each of them to establish more churches as they put to use what he teaches them.
He never dreamed that his vision would come about so quickly. Jim, a friend from England, heard his vision and provided the funding for the training program. In addition, he provided funds for many resources and also for evangelistic crusades in Sajahanpur District. The training has now started and many plans are in place. Thanks to this generous sponsor, we expect hundreds of people to come to Christ this year in this remote district.
Persecution Update Since October 2009 Pastor Sunil Singh of Pratabgarh District has been in hiding from religious fanatics who want to stop him from continuin to share the Gospel. We recently tried to contact him but his phones were not working. So we sent one of our staff out there. He was able to meet with one of Pastor Sunil's disciples, however Sunil himself is still in hiding. The fanatics are still trying to get him. Please pray for the persecution to subside so he can come back to his home.
