ENCOUNTER TRIPS

Churches or groups wishing to expose their members or youth to the poverty and need in another part of the world are encouraged to do an Encounter Trip with us. So we can give you maximum exposure and opportunity to minister to the people, each team member is requested to raise an additional $500 above his or her personal expenses. Ministry opportunities you can be involved in will include one or more of the following:

1. Children’s Ministry in the Village - If your team has prepared some dramas or puppet shows etc, they will be encouraged to share these with the children. They will also hand out candy or fruit to the children, play games with them, and pray for them.
2. Medical Camps - Your team will help in registration, filling prescriptions, and ministering to the children.
3. English Teaching - Many youth and young adults want to learn English, and this is also an excellent way to share the Gospel with them.
4. Ministry to the Orphanage children – get ready to have FUN, and to hear their amazing stories of how their life has changed since they were rescued from their previous horrible situations.

Along with these ministry activities, depending on the location(s) you choose to visit, you will also be able to do several of the following:

1. Do a prayer boat ride on the Ganges River at Varanasi, and prayer walk major stronghold areas, the birthplace of Hinduism in the area known as “the graveyard of Christianity” (young people, get ready to kick some demon butt!)
2. Prayer walk Sarnath, the birthplace of Buddhism
3. Go shopping for unique stuff only found in India (girls, you’ll definitely want to do this one!)
4. Visit the monument to Ambedkar, famous leader of the Dalits, 40% population of India, the oppressed and outcast people.
5. Visit the Taj Mahal, a few hours taxi ride from Delhi
6. Visit the Lotus Temple in Delhi (almost as good as the Taj Mahal but not so far away)
7. See the Himalaya Mountains and drive through the foothills (hold onto your stomach!)

We will help you schedule travel and accommodation within India, and will host you from start to finish of your trip if you so desire.
