Remember us in your will

With a bequest through your will or revocable trust, you can provide now for a future gift to TellASIA/Living Hope Alliance, of a certain dollar amount, a specific property, appreciated assets, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after caring for your loved ones. You may also wish to name charitable recipients in case one or more heirs do not survive you.

What are the benefits for me, the donor?
Your assets remain in your control throughout your lifetime.
You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.
You can designate your bequest for a particular project or purpose (please check with us to make sure your gift can be used as intended).
There is no limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.
You can have the satisfaction now of knowing that your bequest will support the Gospel and charitable work of TellASIA Ministries when you are gone.

How is a bequest stated?
The official legal bequest language for TellASIA is: "I, (name), of (city, state, ZIP), give, devise and bequeath to TellASIA Ministries (written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property) for its unrestricted use and purpose."

Real Estate Options

Gifts of real estate can provide both a tax deduction for you as well important support for the Gospel and humanitarian work in Asia. Your primary home, a vacation home, farm, or commercial property can relieve you of property taxes, provide a tax deduction, and give you the satisfaction of supporting evangelistic and charitable work in the most needy areas of the world.

Can I donate my primary residence and still live there?
Yes. A "Retained Life Estate" is a gift plan defined by federal tax law, allowing the donation of a personal residence (to include a vacation home) or farm with the donor retaining the right to life enjoyment. All routine expenses, maintenance fees, property taxes, repairs, etc – are the responsibility of the donor. The donor receives income tax benefits in the year of the gift (the property is irrevocably deeded to the charity) as well as estate tax benefits.

How to Make a Lasting Legacy

When you create an endowment, your donation is invested permanently and the income is used to support TellASIA's programs. You can name it in honor of a yourself or loved one, and can designate proceeds toward any of our projects if you choose. This will establish an ongoing income for the needy children, evangelistic outreach and community transformation for years to come.

Consider these two options when creating an endowment:

An unrestricted fund. If you make a gift without restrictions to an endowment, our leadership will direct the funds to our most critical needs.

A designated fund. You may determine in advance what programs or services you want your donation to support. The specific details will be incorporated into a written description of the endowment, which must be approved by you and Colorado State University.

Cashless Ways to Participate

Consider these cashless ways to support TellASIA's work:

Open a POD account. A payable on death account is a regular bank account that names a person or charity as beneficiary of that account once the account holder dies. Why it's smart: Legal hassles can be avoided, and your favorite projects in TellASIA will have resources to continue and grow.

Retirement plan assets. When your retirement plan assets are paid to individuals at your death, income taxes will be assessed to that individual. But a tax-exempt charity such as TellASIA Ministries can inherit the assets without paying taxes. Why it's smart: You are able to turn your most tax-heavy assets into tax-free assets while making a difference in the lives of desperately needy people.

Name TellASIA as beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Your need for life insurance most likely declines with age, increasing its popularity as a charitable gift. Why it's smart: The project of your choice in TellASIA will receive a generous gift in the future without you needing to give up any assets today. A gift of life insurance also allows you to adjust your plans at any time throughout your lifetime.
