The Power of Unity!

The northern plains of India is the most populous area of the nation, yet for centuries it has also been the least evangelized. According to leading Missiologist Patrick Johnstone, this area “probably represents the most intense concentration of unevangelized people and groups in the world, and thereby the greatest mission challenge.”

Burdened with the great need to reach these 200 Million people with the Gospel, in 2008 the Lord led TellAsia to launch a united vision with the specific goal to see the Christian population grow from 1% to 20% by the year 2020. We call this rapid, intentional church planting movement the 2020 Network.

Wow! Results.

Now over 6,000 native leaders from several hundred churches and organizations have joined hands together to see the fulfillment of this united initiative. Already God has done amazing things. In the past three years the movement has resulted in an astounding 244,974 new believers, 9,819 new village churches and 55,034 new believers baptized.

The year-end conference was held December 5th-8th with 970 leaders. For the inspiring video, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBCj6P25Zec. It was awesome to see leaders gathered from almost every township of the state. We challenged them to do extra-ordinary things for the Lord in the coming year.

Testimonies

Most of the leaders view the 2020 Network as a big net in which we are all standing together without any differences. They have one purpose: To bring the Gospel to their state, no matter what persecution or difficulty they have to face. Many confess that only after becoming part of the 2020 Network did they realize that they have to set high goals and work to reach many people for Christ besides just leading a church. Others say, “Now because we are all united in Jesus’ name, Satan will have to leave the territory!” One pastor was about to give up on the ministry but he was touched and recommitted his life to serve the Lord until his last breath.

Participants  received resources including Bible, map, and a solar-powered audio Bible school unit

Leaders now understand that their high calling is to spread the Gospel and make disciples everywhere they go. Most work for the Lord voluntarily, earning their living by laboring in the fields or in a company. None of them receive any salary from us but participate in the network from the heart, out of a vision to do their part to reach their own local area. Most of the funding TellAsia receives is used to provide Biblical training, ministry resources and evangelistic outreaches.

Mapping and Research

We are very thankful to native researchers Maneesh and Rajesh along with Duane and his team. They worked tirelessly during the conference to help each leader fill out charts and plot their churches on detailed maps. The team was very organized and the pastors and leaders were greatly encouraged. They said that through the maps they can see what a huge task remains to be done, which they would have never realized otherwise. This research is going to help us to see the gaps and mobilize people to pray and sponsor strategically to meet the challenges.

Future Challenge

Alok, Director of the Network writes: “I can feel and hear the sound of a trumpet! Like a huge army that has clothed themselves with the all the amour of God, they are singing. They have created a new song – “This land belongs to Lord our God!” The powers of darkness are being shaken, chains are being broken. The light of hope is coming to each and every village as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached and people are set free because of the Lamb of God. The stronghold of false gods and goddess are being brought to dust. The Lamb of God is going to rule here forever and ever. Hallelujah!”

Rev. Alok, director of the central and west regions of the Network, shares his heart:

Please continue to Pray for the mighty work of Holy Spirit in this land. We are humbled in His presence as we see that He is at work through our weak efforts.
