DAVID MOSES - HIMALAYA REGIONThe Himalaya Mountains are one of the least evangelized places in the world. There are very few national Christian leaders who are willing to live and work in this rugged area. But Pastor Moses is one of them. As a young man he answered God's call to bring the Gospel to the Himalaya mountains in one of the most untouched areas, the town of Almora in a region bordering Nepal and Tibet. After some time his organization sent him back to South India. But as he was on the train, he cried out in his heart, "I can't leave the place God has called me to." With no idea how he would survive, he got off the train and went back to Almora. There he started a church and married a local girl who had just come to Christ from a Hindu background. They started their family, but Pastor Moses was discontent. He wanted to reach the remote mountains, but was limited by lack of resources. When Leanna met him in about the year 2001 he shared his vision. Photo: Graduation of a class of Discipleship School students. Their goal is to return to their villages and start planting churches. Eventually he became TellASIA's Himalayan Coordinator. Together we purchased a building and started discipleship training programs for the new believers. Many of these youth then were sent out to the remote mountain areas where they have established churches. Today we have work in about six different regions of this state of Uttar Anchal, and the work is growing and becoming more and more self-sufficient. Pastor Moses now operates various social programs along with the training and church planting; a sewing center, a computer institute and now he is opening a weaving school. Despite the difficulty of this area, hundreds are coming to Christ each year. We encourage you to sponsor Pastor Moses and the Himalayan work... or if you want to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas, take a vision trip or encounter trip and visit!
