A heart for orphans and widows.
JOHN AND BRENDA PAYNE Share/Bookmark

Development Assistants

John and Brenda Payne come to us from Colorado with a great love and passion for the hurting and lost children and women of India! Their vision is to help with the self-supporting children's and widow's home project. Click here for more information.

With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services, Brenda has worked as a counselor, Social Worker and case manager for diverse groups of individuals ranging from abused children for the State of Texas, to battered women in a domestic violence shelter in Denver for the last 20 years. She has also worked with patients in medical care for alcohol or drug abuse and mental illness. Brenda was ordained as a Pastor through Friendship Baptist Church of Nigeria by Bishop John O. Dickson in November of 1997. While in Houston, Texas, Brenda hosted her own radio Bible Study show entitled “Women in The Word” on KTEK 1110 AM, Mon-Fri. and also was on the “Heart to Heart” show with Mary Barnes and the “International Fellowship of Men” Show on KYOK several times as a guest speaker.

The Payne’s have been actively involved in working with both adults and children in church for the past 20 years.  Reverend Brenda and her husband John moved to the Republic of Ireland in 1998 and established a small church in there. She and John served there as missionaries from 1998-2004. John ministered to the children and has over 20 years experience as a children’s church leader, teacher and organizer. John has a tremendous gift and love for children and uses his humor to teach them about the Lord. Together, they individually led over 100 people, one at a time, from all over Europe to the Lord, while they ministered primarily to African Refugees seeking asylum in Ireland.

An inspirational conference speaker, Brenda has spoken in conferences both nationally and internationally. Brenda is a member in good standing with Cambridge’s Directory of Who’s Who of Important and Influential People. Before coming to TellAsia, Brenda was the Project Manager for the Family Motel, a homeless shelter with Volunteers of America in Denver serving homeless families with children and homeless youth. As part of her role as Project Manager for VOA, Brenda also sat on the Homeless Families with Children and unaccompanied Youth Committee for the Colorado Interagency Council on Homelessness in 2007. John has certification in Air Frame and Power Plants for Aviation and also in Automotive Technician.  He is highly skilled and knowledgeable in many electro-mechanical areas.  He is also a talented artist and paints landscapes.  He is currently  designing the  energy efficient facility to house the orphans.  Both of the Payne’s play the guitar and piano and Brenda writes Christian songs and teaches Bible studies. John enjoys playing golf.

In late 2004 Brenda was invited to Chennai to speak at a church celebration. While she was in India, the Lord spoke to John and told him they were to go to India and build a home for orphans and widows. This vision included an energy friendly, self supporting facility to house widows and orphans with industry for vocational training and a school. When John and Brenda met Leanna and came to know of TellAsia's vision for the same kind of project in North India, they began helping toward seeing it become a reality.
