CHURCH PLANTING
Alok's passion is to see his people come to know the Lord Jesus and to see churches established in all 97,560 villages and towns of this area. In 2007, we saw over 20,000 people commit their life to Christ throughout TellAsia's four regions in India. Since the founding of The Alliance in 2003, Alok and our team in Lucknow Region have established over 1,000 churches in formerly unevangelized villages.
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SOCIAL WORK
Alok and his wife Ricky direct Blue Haven Children's Home. (see the children's home web page HERE) Our vision is to expand this project to become a self-sufficient facility providing a loving home and good education for 200 destitute and orphaned children. He is also well respected in his village community and is active in working for the improvement of social conditions in the villages. Alok manages a public high school established by his grandfather, and is also involved in other educational projects to assist the destitute village people including building a school for the children of his village.

DISCIPLESHIP AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING In a place where there are almost no Christians, developing strong leaders and pastors is essential. Alok and our team at Lucknow carry on several discipleship training programs that facilitate this goal. One of these programs is the Mega Voice project, funded by ICM. A Mega Voice is a hand-held solar device which contains a two-year Bible course in the local language. Since over 40% of the population in India is still illiterate, this is an invaluable tool which is helping hundreds of villagers learn the Bible. Along with one-month discipleship courses and leadership seminars, Alok and team coordinate many other training outreaches including the Awadhi Conference, an annual event in which 500 pastors from all across the state gather for four days of solid pastoral training. This conference is funded and resourced by Rev. Norman Hunt from Canton, GA. Here's a clip of the worship during one of our large pastor's conferences:
BLUE HAVEN CHILDREN'S HOME Alok's wife Ricky was raised in a Christian children's home high in the Himalaya mountains. Her passion was to start an orphanage and rescue more hopeless and orphan children. This dream came true for Ricky in 2005. TellAsia's policy is to never start a new project unless there is a local person who has a passion as well as the capability to lead it. So when we saw that Ricky had the calling and also the background to direct a children's home, we started the project. Today we have 32 beautiful children whose lives have been completely transformed.

There are an amazing 30 million at-risk and orphan children here in the Ganges River Plain area of North India. Many are exploited for prostitution and child labor. All of them face a miserable future unless someone intervenes. Learn more about our large-scale project to establish a self-supporting children's home, school and medical clinic.
